About us

Who we are

We are an antifaschist alliance against the political shift to the right in Jena and Thuringia. Our main principles of work are: “Overcome isolation – communicate – decide – act”. Because that is, what we want: We don’t want to feel alone and helpless. We talk to each other. We take decisions as a group. And: we create and implement actions together based on those decisions. That’s how we achieved enormous things during the last months: Argumentation trainings against right wing opinions, networking with rural areas, Social-Media-Work, or our successful blockade of Höcke in Jena-Lobeda on 20th of August 2024.

For more than a year we have been meeting as a network of persons and groups and are working together for a society in solidarity. The regional elections in Thuringia have passed by. But our work really only starts now. Antifaschism is a long term activity. We want to face the shift to the right in the short and long term. We want to enhance development together in four areas.

Our Strategy

1. prevent AfD government
2. counter right-wing violence
3. revise our organisational structure
4. develop solidary counter-narratives

The heart of our work is our large plenum. This is where we network, discuss fundamental issues, and make important decisions. The central work takes place in our working groups (AGs). There is also a coordination group (Ko-Kreis) in which agreements are made between the various working groups. Our working language is German and we endeavour to use the simplest possible language. You are also welcome to come if you feel you have no knowledge or experience. You are not the only person who is starting to organise and who wants to get something good going. We want to create a space where everyone can find a place to get involved. Even if it’s ‘only’ small things. Each and every one of us is needed to stand up against the threat from the right!
